Taking calcium supplements?

Well, Vitamin K2 MK-7 is a must!

Calcium is one of the most important minerals in our bodies, but while Calcium is essential for us in maintaining overall health and strong bones, the mineral can be difficult to effectively absorb and metabolise.

This is extremely detrimental to our overall health as it would eventually lead to too much Calcium in our bodies and may cause vascular and coronary calcification in the long-term.

One way to combat this is by ensuring a sufficient intake of the Vitamin K2 & D3 in our daily diets as the two essential vitamins have been found to be able to work together to help increase calcium absorption from blood to bone.

Vitamin K2 & D3

Both essential vitamins are required in the bone mineralisation process as Vit K2 is linked to better calcium metabolism from blood to bone while Vit D3 is linked to better calcium intake from our gut.

Despite their importance to health,  these two vitamins still remain widely underappreciated as roughly 97% of the world’s population is Vit K2 deficiency while 75% of Malaysians are Vit D3 deficient.

Vitamin K2 MK-4 vs Vitamin K2 MK-7

Vitamin K2 can be divided into subtypes, namely, short-chain (i.e., menaquinone-4; MK-4) and long-chain (i.e., MK-7, MK-8, and MK-9). MK-7 is the best absorbed form of Vitamin K2. Studies on this form have shown that it plays important roles in bone health, by helping to mobilize calcium into and out of the bones.

Besides that, MK-7 MenaquinGOLD is also a pharmaceutical grade and more shelf stable form of Vitamin K2, making it optimal for use in supplements.
